When a Windows Vista system is switched on, the boot sector loads the bootmgr file to access the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store, which uses its information to load the operating system. The BCD store is a firmware-independent database, which is used to store the boot time configuration data, and is very significant for the boot process. However, sometimes the BCD store gets corrupt and results in making the system unable to boot. In such cases, you should use appropriate corrective measures to resolve the issue. However, if you are not able to address the problem then you should use a Windows data recovery software to recover the trapped data.

Consider a scenario wherein your Windows Vista system is unable to boot. An error message is displayed, that is:

“File: \Boot\BCD

Status: 0xc0000034

Info: The Windows Boot Configuration Data file is missing required information”

Cause:

The most possible cause of the aforementioned error message could be either (or both) of the following reasons:

· The entry of the Windows Boot Manager (Bootmgr) is missing in the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store.

· The Boot\BCD file on the active partition is either corrupt or missing.

Resolution:

To resolve this error message and to be able to access the Windows Vista system, you should perform the following methods, preferably in the given order:

· Repair the BCD store by using the Startup Repair option: In the Windows Recovery Environment, use the Startup Repair option to repair the BCD store.

· Rebuild the BCD store by using the Bootrec.exe tool: If the previous method is not able to resolve the issue, then you should use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to resolve the issue.

· Rebuild the BCD store manually using the Bcdedit.exe tool: If you are still not able to rebuild the BCD store, then you should do it manually using the Bcdedit.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment.

Either of the aforementioned methods will be able to resolve the error. However, if you are still not able to address the issue then you should use a third-party partition recovery software to recover the lost partition. Such read-only tools are able to recover partition from all instances of corruption using sophisticated scanning algorithms.

Recovering hard-deleted files using file recovery software

Nearly each one of us has experienced the data loss situations some way or the other. And we all know how painful it is to lose data especially when it is not possible to recover it. Such scenarios occur because of various reasons such as emptying the Recycle Bin, hard-deleting the files, deleting files from the DOS prompt, virus infections, shutting down the system abruptly, etc. In most of the cases, you do not have a backup of these files, which makes the situation even more depressing and calls for file recovery. In such cases, you should use a third-party file recovery software to recover deleted files.

Consider a scenario wherein you are working on an important document for your monthly report. Once you are done with the document, you hard-delete the rest of the files using 'Shift+Delete'. However, after deleting these files, you realize that you have mistakenly deleted the actual file. After deleting these files, you realized that it was the file that you required for the report. And to make the matters worse, the file also skipped the Recycle Bin because of shift-deleting it. Now, as usual you must be cursing yourself for this great folly of yours. But wait a minute, the file may still be recovered even after hard-deleting.

Actually when a file is deleted from a Windows system, it is not removed from the file system database. Only its reference is deleted and the file is still there. Thus, Windows makes a note that the space reserved by the deleted file is now available for a new file. So, until a new file is created and saved at the location where the deleted file was stored, it can be recovered from there. However, to recover such deleted files you need to use a third-party file recovery software. Such read-only tools are able to perform file recovery without overwriting the existing data.

As far as data recovery is concerned, Mac users experience face more challenges as compared to the owners of Microsoft Windows computers. It is due to the fact that disk formatting process in Mac includes three phases as opposed to Microsoft Windows. The steps are- hard drive formatting, hard drive verification, and hard drive zeroing. You may face any kind of errors, during the process, which can eventually lead to severe data loss. Disk Initialization is a dominant threat to your valuable data. After initialization, the hard drive partitions are vanished and Disk Utility asks you to format the hard drive. In all such critical situations, Mac Recovery is helpfull, if you do not have an updated and complete backup in place.

When such problems occur or you make mistake to land up in such situations, the experts recommend you to use the Disk First Aid of Disk Utility, to resolve this behavior. However, this process fails in the majority of situations and you come across some error messages, similar to the following one:

“Verify and Repair Volume
Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
Invalid B tree node structure.
Volume check failed.”

The cause of this problem is as indecipherable as effects of data loss. It makes all your precious data inaccessible. In order to gain access of your mission-critical data in such situations, you are required to identify the root cause and then perform Data Recovery Mac.

Cause

The problem generally occurs due to file system related errors. Which may be because of the following reasons:

· The partition table, which keeps record of all the Mac OS X hard drive volumes, is damaged. It leads to the inaccessibility of Mac OS X logical hard drive volumes.

· Catalog B tree is damaged. It is the most significant component of HFS+ and HFSX file systems.

Resolution

In order to fix partition table and Catalog B tree corruption, you need to format the hard drive and reinstall operating system. It eventually cause serious data loss and require Mac Data Recovery to sort out the problem.

Recovery is possible using powerful and advanced Mac Recovery Software. The applications are powerful enough to thoroughly scan entire hard drive and extract all lost data from it. They are totally safe and easy to use with read-only nature and interactive user interface.

Missing Kernel File May Cause Data Loss in Windows

Data Loss, Inc.Image by RobotMachine via Flickr

Kernel is the most significant part of Windows operating system, which works as an interface between software and hardware. In case the kernel or any of its critical files get damaged, Windows operating system may not boot. In such situations, all your valuable data stored on Windows hard drive becomes inaccessible, causing severe data loss. In such circumstances, you need to opt for windows data recovery, if there is no updated backup in place.

In a practical scenario, your system may stop responding after the POST (Power On Self Test) and boot process may halt, when you try to start your Windows computer with Windows NTFS (New Technology File System) partition. Furthermore, you may come across the below error message:

“A kernel file is missing from the disk.
Insert a system disk and restart the system.”

This problem generally occurs on Intel-based systems with NTFS boot partition and renders your system inaccessible. In order to access your mission critical data in such cases, you need to first find out the root of the issue and then perform Windows Data Recovery by resolving it.

Grounds of the problem
You may face this behavior of Microsoft Windows operating system if the disk structure data of NTFS file system, which is stored in MFT (Master File Table) is either fragmented or damaged. It prevents Microsoft Windows Ntldr (NT Boot Loader) from being discovered and read.

Resolution
In order to work around this behavior, follow the underwritten steps:

• Verify that the boot partition is active, using Fdisk tool.
• Try to repair Ntldr file using Microsoft Windows Recovery Console through boot CD of Windows operating system.
• Detect and remove boot sector viruses from your system using an updated and powerful anti-virus application.
• Create backup of your significant files, format your Windows hard drive, and reinstall Microsoft Windows operating system. However, if you are unable to access the hard drive using Windows boot disk and create backup, severe data loss situations are caused by hard drive formatting.

In such grave situations, windows recovery software come to your rescue. The applications are specifically designed to methodically scan the entire hard drive and extract all lost, missing, and inaccessible data from it. They perform safe, easy, and absolute data recovery in all data loss situations.

Recovering partitions in case of raw partition

No matter how much you care about your PC and how many measures you take to safeguard its data, it is virtually impossible to make it stay error-free for long. With time there is bound to be some issue or the other that may either considerably reduce its performance or make it stop functioning. At times your system may get corrupted because of various reasons such as virus infections, human errors, power fluctuations, abrupt or improper system shutdown, etc. In such situations, you should take appropriate corrective measures to resolve the issue. However, if you are not able to address the issue then you should use a third-party Windows data recovery

Consider a scenario wherein you have a 250 GB partition for data storage in your system. One fine day, when you try to access the drive you are unable to do so. An error message is displayed, which could be either of the following:

• The volume X: is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?
• The disk in drive X: is not formatted.
• There was an error accessing drive X:. The disk is not formatted.

Also, when you try to run CHKDSK for the mentioned drive, you are unable to do that as well. An error is displayed, that is:

“The type of the filesystem is RAW.
CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives.”

The aforementioned error messages and scenario signify that the mentioned partition has corrupted and, thus, is inaccessible.

Cause:
The root cause for this situation is that the file system has corrupted due to corruption in partition table, LDM database, or the volume boot sector.

Resolution:
To resolve this situation, you should use a third-party windows data recovery software to recover partition. Such read-only tools are able to recover data from corrupt partitions by employing fast yet sophisticated scanning algorithms.

software to recover inaccessible data.
