Digital cameras have revolutionized the photography with their excellent picture quality, ease of use, and reliability. They use flash memory or memory cards to store pictures. The memory cards use flash memory to store photos, which are shot using digital cameras. They do not contain any moving components, and thus are considered more reliable as compared to magnetic storage devices. However, in some situations, the memory cards may face logical corruption due to damaged or missing data structures. In such critical circumstances, you can not access the photos stored on media. It leads to significant photo loss, if you do not have an absolute backup of your memorable pictures, and require Digital Photo Recovery to be fixed.

As an example of memory card corruption, you may come across the below error message when you try to access memory card using digital camera or by attaching it to your computer:

“A Media Card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors please use a disk error-checking utility on a computer.”

The above error particularly occurs with SD (Secure Digital) memory card, which is one of the most widely used type of memory card for digital cameras and other handheld devices. The status of this problem may be different in different situations. In some cases, you may not see the contents of the media, in other cases you can see the files but can not use them.

If files are invisible:

It may be due to logical corruption of the memory card. Try accessing the device using card reader. If the card is still inaccessible, formatting is the only option to solve this problem. The process is safe only if you have complete backup of your photos, else you have to go for Photo Recovery using third-party tools.

If contents are visible:

This situations is quite safe as compared to the first one. Here, you can save your data to hard drive, format the memory card, and then copy data back to memory card for accessing it.

In case of unusable or unavailable backup, after formatting the memory card, image recovery software are required to retrieve lost, missing, and deleted photos from memory card. These software do not demand sound technical skills to recover lost files as they have interactive and simple graphical user interface. The applications perform absolute picture recovery through advanced and powerful scanning techniques.

Mozilla Firefox, a popular and widely used web browser, securely saves user names and passwords that you enter on websites or web forms. You may save the login details to make it simpler to log into the websites, without typing the details again and again. By default, “Remember passwords for the sites” feature is enabled in the browser, but still it asks you every time when you log into your account. If you click “Remember button” Firefox saves your login details. This feature provides you a convenient way to log into your accounts.

You should not save the usernames and passwords on a public or shared computer. It increases the hazards of your login details being exposed.

In some cases, you may need to recover login details. Such situations include:
• The Firefox application is crashed or inaccessible. You can open the browser.

• You have accidentally deleted the password manager settings in Firefox.

• You have manually deleted the usernames and passwords in Firefox from the 'Security' tab in 'Options' of 'Tools' menu.

• You forgot the password and now you need to log into your account on another computer or browser.

• You lost the password and now you need to reset it. For resetting the password, you must have existing log in details.

If you come across any of the above situations, you can not log into your account. In such situations, you need to recover login details using Firefox Password Recovery applications. Firefox stores login information in Windows registry and these recovery applications can effectively recover it.

Such applications use advanced scanning algorithms to Recover Windows Password, even if you delete the settings in password manager. Password Recovery Software can easily recover your login details, with simple and rich graphical user interface. You need not interact with Windows registry to extract the login details.

How to Solve '- 60 bad master directory block' Error?

A HFS (Hierarchical File System) volume comprises of five main structures: Boot Blocks, MDB (Master Directory Block), Volume Bitmap, Extent Overflow File, and Catalog File. Out of these structures, MDB is the one that defines data itself. Located at logical block 2 of the volume, MDB is an important structure that consists of valuable information that is used to locate data on a disk. A damaged directory is a direct indication of data loss. As such, a condition with no data backup can leave in an unavoidable situation of using a Macintosh data recovery utility.

A corrupted MDB is mostly a result of unexpected power outage. To clarify the related problems, consider yourself as a Mac OS X user who experiences a power failure on his Mac OS X computer. Next time, when you try to start your computer, a gray screen greets you. You also receive an error message that reads:

“-60 bad master directory block”

While preventing your access to the data, this error won't allow you to boot Mac OS X computer further.

As the error message mentions, this is a case of MDB corruption. Apart from power outage, virus infection can also lead to MDB damage.

Steps to Recover

Below mentioned steps help you recover such damaged disks in case of MDB corruption:

* If you have a valid and good data backup, clean the disk and simply restore the data.

* In the absence of a backup, you can repair the damaged directory by 'Repair Disk' function of 'Disk Utility. For an unbootable computer, you need to boot from the installation disk or connect the disk in disk mode to another working Mac OS X computer.

* Sometimes, the damage can be too extensive, and 'Disk Utility' might take considerable amount of time or in worst cases, might fail completely. In case of complete failure, you should use a Data Recovery Mac application. A Mac Data Recovery software can scan a logically crashed Mac disk and retrieve maximum data in the safest manner.
