Almost all Computer BIOSes are now available with an IDE device auto-detection feature that controls the setup of IDE devices on the computer. This utility generally comes in two major forms: Dynamic IDE auto-detection and Manual IDE auto-detection. The former form is a fully automatic mode, in which the BIOS automatically detects the newly connected drive (particularly hard disk drives) at each boot-up and sets its correct options. However, the latter one is the manual mode that requires you to select auto-detection option to let BIOS set the IDE parameters for the newly detected devices. The BIOS then saves the parameters permanently. A hard disk usually appears as physically failed if BIOS auto-detection feature cannot detect the hard drive, however, there can be other causes as well. But if you conclude at hard disk failure, hard disk recovery service can help you to rescue the lost data.
Consider an instance when you boot-up the computer and BIOS refuses to detect the hard drive. The BIOS seems to search the drive and finally reports that it cannot find the drive This can be a critical situation for a user with important data on the hard drive as it cannot access the data until the hard disk is visible to the BIOS. The problem can be related to drive set up rather than within the drive, thus a user is recommended to consider the following basic suggestions in such conditions:
In case you are trying to detect a new hard drive or the one that has been moved to a new or upgraded system, the problem might be related to system assembly issues.
Try to move and attach the hard drive to another computer. If it is detected, the hard disk controller might be defective.
Make sure that the hard disk is properly powered up
Check if hard disk properly spinning up. If you hear that the hard disk spins up and spins down quickly or not spinning at all, the hard disk failure is most likely.
Ensure that the jumpers are correctly configured
Make sure that the IDE controller is enabled and IDE cable is healthily connected
Consult the manufacturers to take care of your specific issue
If the hard disk is completely dead, seek disk recovery experts' help to recover the data. hard disk recovery service provider companies have special equipments and technology to diagnose and extract data from any kind of hard drive.
