Data Loss due to Missing or Corrupt Microsoft Windows .dll Files

Dynamic-link libraryImage via Wikipedia

Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files are a library of executable functions that are either provided with Windows operating system or are created for a particular application. Corruption in .dll files can occur due to various logical and physical reasons. In most cases of .dll file corruption, you encounter an error message that halts the booting process of Windows. Furthermore, the data saved in your computer system becomes inaccessible after the occurrence of the error message. To overcome such situations, the best practice is to restore the data from an updated backup. But, if the backup data gets corrupted or is unable to restore the desired information, then you will need to use advanced data recovery software that can recover your lost data.

Few main reasons responsible for a missing or corrupt .dll file are:

* You uninstalled a program that removed the .dll file, which was required by the operating system.
* You install a new program, which overwrites the .dll file with a version that is not compatible with other programs.
* You installed a program inappropriately.
* Human errors or accidental deletion
* Hardware issues like bad hard disk drive, and more.

Once the .dll files are corrupted due to any of the above reasons, you encounter any of the same error messages:

“Internet Explorer encountered an error in KERNEL32.DLL at 0137:BFF3191C”
Or
“kernel32.dll”

To overcome such error messages and resolve .dll file corruption issue, you will need to take the below measures:

1 You will need to download or copy a .dll file from another computer.
2 Try to boot your system in Safe Mode by pressing F8 button at boot time.

But, if all the above measures fail to resolve the problem and your hard drive data remains inaccessible, then you will need to perform a clean reinstall of Windows. A fresh reinstall of Windows deletes all the data from the formatted hard drive volume. For complete recovery of data under such circumstances, you will need to use powerful data recovery software. With highly graphical user-interface, advanced features, and use of high end scanning mechanisms, these data recovery utilities serve as easy to understand and recovery centric applications.
