Partition Loss due to Invalid Boot configuration

Most of the computer users divide there hard disks into more than one partitions to use the space more efficiently viz. to store and search something specific. You can use different operating systems on a single computer by installing them into different partitions. However, you might encounter an error message when you attempt to boot an operating system. Such error messages halt the booting process and make the data saved in the partition inaccessible. To access the data in a systematic manner, you need to restore it from an updated backup. But if you have not created any backup or the backup fails to restore the required data, then you need to perform Partition Recovery by using effective Partition Recovery Software.

Consider a scenario, where you encounter the below error message during Windows XP bootup:

"Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware."

Partition Recovery

After the above error message appears, the bootup process gets halted and the data saved in the hard drive becomes inaccessible.

Cause:

Two primary causes behind occurrence of the above error messages are:

· Corrupt, missing or incomplete Boot.ini file,

· Invalid partition path in Boot.ini file

Resolution:

To resolve the above error and regain access of your precious data, you need to follow these steps:

· Restore your system to last successful logon by using “Last Known Good Configuration.”

· Run Windows Setup from the operating system CD provided by the computer manufacturer.

· On ‘Welcome to Setup’ screen, press R to open “Recovery Console”

· Restore your system to previously saved configuration

However, while applying the above measures, you may encounter these issues:

· While opening “Recovery Console”, you receive a command prompt without any log-in option.

· While using the operating system CD, the installation remains incomplete

· While trying to access Windows folder, you might encounter an “Access Denied” error message.

If you encounter any of the above issues, you need to reinstall the operating system. A clean reinstall of the operating system will delete all the saved data on the hard drive partition. In such situations, you need to perform Partition Recovery using powerful third-party tools. Such Partition Recovery utilities recover data by using advanced effective scanning methods. With their user friendly and interactive user interface, you can easily understand these applications.
